Located in Ottawa, Canada, a city long recognized as a hotbed of technology research and development, Zodiac Light Waves Inc. was originally established in 1997 as an optics and laser distributor.

In the fall of 2004, we introduced custom radio frequency identification products with the sole focus of bringing the many benefits of RFID technology to Zodiac's clients. The company now works with partners around the globe to develop highly customized, cost-efficient and easy-to-use RFID solutions for corporations, governments and installations such as museums, galleries and libraries.

In the summer of 2005 we have introduced our first RFID and biometric lock system, for offices and hotel doors. The highlight of our RFID door lock system is that it is a stand alone system. Only by having the master card you can generate more user cards, with out a need for a computer or and external hardware.

Zodiac has also launched its research project with the University of Ottawa in the winter of 2007. The research team has won the OCE grant, and have completed their task in the spring of 2007.
